FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
Is fresh Lion's Mane good for you?
Yes! Fresh Lion's Mane is packed with nutrients, including B vitamins, protein, fibre, potassium, zinc, and selenium. It also contains natural antioxidants and polysaccharides, which are being studied for their role in supporting health. It’s both a nourishing food and a delicious addition to your cooking.
Is fresh Lion's Mane better than dried?
Both fresh and dried Lion's Mane have their benefits – they’re just different. Fresh Lion's Mane has a soft, meaty texture and a delicate flavour that works beautifully in savoury dishes. Dried Lion's Mane keeps for much longer and gives a deeper flavour once rehydrated. Which you choose depends on whether you want fresh mushrooms ready to cook now or a long-lasting pantry ingredient.
How should I store fresh Lion's Mane?
Store fresh Lion's Mane in the fridge. This keeps it cool and lets it breathe so it doesn’t sweat. Avoid sealing it in plastic, as excess moisture (like condensation build-up) makes it spoil faster.
How long does fresh Lion's Mane last?
Fresh Lion's Mane usually lasts about 5–7 days in the fridge when stored properly.
Can you eat fresh Lion's Mane without cooking it?
You can, but we always recommend you cook it. Raw Lion's Mane – whether bought fresh or cultivated from a grow kit can be a little tough and bland. Cooking it – whether sautéed, roasted, or added to sauces – brings out its flavour, improves the texture, and makes the most of its nutrients.
Can I return fresh Lion's Mane?
No. As a perishable food, fresh Lion's Mane can’t be returned once it leaves us. Every order is carefully packed to arrive in top condition, and if there’s an issue on delivery, we’ll always work with you to make it right.
