Sterile Grain – Ready-to-Inoculate Mushroom Substrate – Autoclave-sterilised grain in a Unicorn bag, complete with a self-healing injection port for clean and simple inoculation.

CVG Substrate – Premium Coco Coir, Vermiculite & Gypsum Mix – The perfect substrate for strong, healthy mushroom growth. Choose the classic CVG or boost your results with CVG+, featuring added soya hulls for faster colonisation.

The Boomer Shroomer Monotub is not included as standard. If you’d like to add it to your setup, please select it as an add-on when ordering.
The term “shroom” refers to mushrooms in general. At Urban Farm-It, our products are intended solely for lawful and appropriate use. We do not support or condone the cultivation or use of any illegal substances. It is the sole responsibility of the user to be aware of and comply with all relevant local and national laws.
Storage Information
CVG/CVG+: Store in a cool dry place (not the fridge) and use within 2 months.
Rye Grain: For best results inoculate immediately, otherwise store in a cool dry place (not the fridge) for up to 5 weeks.
Delivery & Returns
Delivery
Our Sterile Range is made to order so please allow up to 4 business days for your order to processed and shipped.
We are able to ship to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Islands, the Scottish Highlands, the Isle of Wight, and the Channel Islands. However, these shipments are arranged on a case-by-case basis to ensure the best possible service.

Note: Please refer to the specific lead times shown on product pages for more accurate delivery times.
- Small Orders (E.g. 100ml Spawn, Plugs): Sent via Royal Mail large letters.
- Medium-Sized Orders (under 2kg): Royal Mail 24-48 hour tracked parcel.
- Large Orders (2kg+): via DPD Express or APC.
Returns
- Due to the perishable nature of these products, we are unable to accept returns.
- If your bundle arrives damaged, defective, or not as described, please contact us at hello@urban-farm-it.com within 24 hours of receiving the item. You will be eligible for a replacement or refund if we are notified within this timeframe, along with supporting documentation such as photos of the item and packaging.
- Refunds or replacements will not be issued for reports received beyond the 24-hour window, as the quality of perishable items can degrade rapidly.

CVG vs CVG+
We offer two substrate options with this bundle – click the images below to learn more about each one.
CVG
The go-to bulk substrate for many mushroom cultivators thanks to its simplicity, effectiveness, and low contamination risk. The coco coir provides structure and moisture retention, vermiculite adds aeration and further water-holding capacity, and gypsum offers trace minerals and helps balance pH. CVG is nutritionally poor by design, making it a great choice for growers who want to reduce the risk of contamination while allowing the mycelium to fully colonise before fruiting.
CVG+
CVG+ takes the standard CVG base and boosts it with soya hulls – a rich, nitrogen-dense supplement. This added nutrition can lead to more aggressive growth and potentially higher yields, particularly when working with gourmet species that benefit from a more nutrient-rich environment. It’s a great choice for experienced growers looking to maximise performance, or for those using a BoomerShroomer with sterile grain and clean inoculation methods.
