Delivery & Returns
Delivery
We are able to ship to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Islands, the Scottish Highlands, the Isle of Wight, and the Channel Islands. However, these shipments are arranged on a case-by-case basis to ensure the best possible service.

Note: Please refer to the specific lead times shown on product pages for more accurate delivery times.
- Small Orders (E.g. 100ml Spawn, Plugs): Sent via Royal Mail large letters.
- Medium-Sized Orders (under 2kg): Royal Mail 24-48 hour tracked parcel.
- Large Orders (2kg+): via DPD Express or APC.
Returns
Gift Kits (spawn voucher)
- Non-perishable items may be eligible for a return or refund within 14 days of purchase, provided they are unopened and in original packaging.
- Any item that arrives damaged or defective must be reported within 24 hours of receipt to qualify for a replacement or refund. Please provide photos of the damaged item and packaging.
- For non-perishable items, customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or otherwise incorrect.
DIY Kits (containing spawn)
- Due to the perishable nature of these products, we are unable to accept returns.
- If your mushroom spawn arrives damaged, defective, or not as described, please contact us at hello@urban-farm-it.com within 24 hours of receiving the item. You will be eligible for a replacement or refund if we are notified within this timeframe, along with supporting documentation such as photos of the item and packaging.
- Refunds or replacements will not be issued for reports received beyond the 24-hour window, as the quality of perishable items can degrade rapidly.

Kit Types Explained
We offer two distinct kit types: the Grow Now Kit and the Grow Later Kit. Below, you'll find a quick guide to help you decide which option best suits your needs.
Mushroom spawn sent with your kit. Spawn is a live product and should be used within 10 days. Our Grow Now kit is perfect for those wanting to get started with their kit straight away.
Your kit includes a mushroom spawn voucher, making it completely shelf-stable until you're ready to grow. When the time comes, simply redeem your voucher online and we’ll send your fresh spawn with next-day delivery for free.

How do I redeem my mushroom spawn voucher?
You can redeem your mushroom spawn voucher by CLICKING HERE (or heading to redeem.urban-farm-it.com)
Simply enter the unique code found on your voucher or the front of your grow guide booklet, provide us with your delivery details, and we’ll send your spawn out to you.
How should I store my kit?
Grow Now Kits (with spawn): Use as soon as possible, ideally within 10 days.
- White Elm, Blue-Grey, Golden Oyster: keep spawn in the fridge.
- Pink Oyster: store in a cool place around 10°C (don’t refrigerate).
Grow Later Kits (voucher): Store the kit at room temperature, avoid damp conditions. Redeem the spawn voucher when ready to grow.
Does my voucher have an expiry date?
Our vouchers champion the luxury of no expiry date, giving you the freedom to redeem it whenever you're prepared to start your kit.
Can I eat the mushrooms?
Yes! Oyster mushrooms are 100% edible and are known for their delicious flavour and versatility in cooking.
We always recommend cooking your Oyster mushrooms before eating them, as this enhances their flavour, texture, and digestibility. Eating them raw can sometimes cause mild digestive upset and may reduce the absorption of beneficial nutrients.
If you notice anything growing that doesn’t resemble an Oyster mushroom, do not consume it. Please get in touch with our team and send us a photo so we can take a look and advise you further.
